The series' these guys are from aren't that well known in the west, which is a shame. Wanted to upload my tribute to these charas >:]
I bought and watched Giant Robo before christmas, and went on to buy the '04 Tetsujin 28 series because I wanted to see more Imagawa/Yokoyama work. Unfortunately, the other iterations of Tetsujin 28 (and other Yokoyama works) are either annoyingly difficult to get a hold of or haven't been translated into english lmfao
ANYWAY, my favourite character, in the iterations I've seen, is Dr. Franken, and I've basically been drawing him non-stop since New Years' day. Behind him in this pic is Black Ox, his kickass giant robot, because I wanted to draw him, too. It's like I collect fictional scientists or something >_> and this one, I like a lot :3
Coloured with Copic ciaos, Promarkers, fineliners and a white gel pen.
I need to draw fan art for LOADS of things, to be honest. I've been neglecting too many of my favourite characters. Maybe you'll see me spamming fan art of lots of other things this year.
Tetsujin 28 was created by the late great Mitsuteru Yokoyama in 1956.

Why no one remembers tetsujin heck he is the one that planted the seed for the mecha genre and the fact that he is one of the most inportant figures of anime in general (besides astroboy )
